what works so far.
#9
my bad, you have profile, gee, that is even better, shockingly better
when was the last time car was good running daily driver, was it parked for a long time/??? key facts here.

working on a 93 suzuki side kick with a 1.6 liter 16 valve engine 4 door 4wd.
the timing belt was changed 20,000 miles ago,
they did a partial tuneup, needs plugs, has a cracked exhaust manifold
.no power going uphill, fine on flats. cleaned egr helped a little, still idles low (how low, 400 rpm>?)
. no lights inside
,no tail lights,
fuses test ok. this car is making me go gray.
test to a tech means meter, tests. ohms or live volts on both ends 12v and 12v is good fuse key on
fuses that look bad are
fuse that look ok can in fact be bad, called hair line cracks.... use the DMM meter and do not guess, on fuse.

we can fix it one prob at a time.
best is one post for whole car so we see related issues, one post with all the bad news, is best for me...
the dome lamp has its own ground
so when you turn it on and the lamp tests good before, it glows. due only 3 facts
dome fuse reads 12v both sides, and 12vdc in to the dome base.
and the dome lamp base is screwed to the body, not using super glue,LOL,,,,
then the switch the switch closes, and the dome glows, works just like a flash lite , if it had a fuse.
best practices, is to keep meter on DC volts, connect black test lead to main battery neg lug, (long jumper clips leads best)
then use the red test lead to find the loss of 12vdc to the lamp
if the lamp base measure 12vdc then the lamp base is not grounded, killing it dead 100%
even in door mode

OFF ---DOORS ---- ON..
it must work in "ON" mode or its a very simple problem

Did someone let the fuel go bad in the tank,,,,yes/no????
if yes, then the injectors will nasty gummy. the injectors have 10micron screens inside, 4 time smaller than rear filter.
if the injectors are clean, then your fuel pressure is wrong.

please know the pressure can fail many ways
too low or none
too high
and no regulation

fuel pressure spec, is here seen on my pump page and FPR page
gage at harborfreight is $20
9 tests only 7 you can do.. and more for injector balance testing, same tool
one poor guy hear, all 4 injectors clogged, 1/2 way, and made the balance test loo, ok, not fun that.
how did we solve that, (no scan tools for 93) was prooving all ecu inputs ok and injector pulse ok and fuel pressure ok.
bam injectors
pressure at gage
key on 3 times, pressure 36-43psi, high end is sealevel end... low on mt, everest>
key off it holds for 1/3 min.
idle 30-37 ( if 43 above, 37 now, dig?)
gun engine, parked, to 3000 rpm just floor it for 1 second.
the FPR will try hard to hit key on pressure above, if not FPR is toasted or vacuum missing to it
