Can transfer-case be removed without dropping the AT
#4
if you read the top post on this form, its there, fully linked, and updated
as you know books and websites go bye-bye or moved.
thus the page.
the welcome page,.
see it?

the 1996 book covers it in part, on ackfaq
the rhino pages, have the real books, real suzuki, all cover it totally.' GM books are weak here.

if you just look at the box, its just a bolt on

your 3speed is a 1970s TH180 box. old as the hills
suzuki then takes that box and adds a 4wd adapter, to it, it just bolts on, and is now a 3L30 box, only fits this car.
this adaptor just bolts on to the transfer case. (splines inside, do not stop you)

I pretend, im pulling the box.
the console pulled and all levers removed.

i then drop the rear prop shaft. (gox drained first, is a must, xfr box. GL3 drained out)
then drop the cross member, the trans tilts down, put wood behind the distributor as the book states

then unbolt the transfer case, on the most rear front flange of case.
on my web site, type pull in the search box
land here

then click. pull 5sp. (they area all same mostly, cept, if exhaust blocks parts and side braces on some)

tell me does step 23 her cover this,

i do not know if your 3L30 has that #1 hidden bolt, but you can look for it. I would. if i had a slush pump box.

steps 1 to 25 do it.
