Crankshaft Pulley
#1
Trying to verify the part number for a 1997 sidekick sport J18 1.8L engine crankshaft pulley, most numbers I am finding indicate 1261077E12 (right or wrong?) or if the crankshaft pulley from the J20 2.0L would work. Any other interchangeable parts listing for both engines.
Previous owner did not tell me about his cooling fan breaking off its mount and scraping the rubberized micro v's off the pulley. Would like to get replaced so the serpentine belt can function properly, because when the bottom of the motor gets splashed with water or snow the pulley spins but will not allow the serpentine belt to function.

there are j20 parts on sport that donot work on on any esteem j20, (one item is CKP sensor tone wheels)
what are you replacing exactly
pulley? only, nothing else ,why is pulley bad,?

just timing marks? that it?

why would marks , effect serpentine belt? must be bigger , story , all bad, sorry for your grief.

77E means J18/20, parts.

you you forgot to tell me what car and year is the donor.
but ill get the pn. for correct car now.

sport shows. 12610-77E10, 1996-98 # (and up to 2003 grand vitara, e11 on end.)
esteems dont work , radial diff, numbers

keep in mind e12 can be revised part.
and is true

Quick Order
Old Part Number 12610-77E10
New Part Number 1261077E12

looks like it changed 3 times...

where did you remove a j20 from... a GV or esteem and what year, they have j20b, up to 2008 or more with VVT valves and all.

It is the original 1.8L motor that came in the 97 sport. Just replacing the pulley since the fan scrapped all the grooves off of it and the pulley is completely smooth

thats no fun but you could make new marks, if you can project the key center outward,,
then compute the circum, to degrees (its easy this)

not easy that projection on a curved surface...a challenging... that.
