RE: 1993 Sidekick JX CEL issues - brocklanders - 08-09-2014 This may be a stupid question but what resistor should I buy? I know 10K Ohms but what voltage ? Thanks in advance!!!! RE: 1993 Sidekick JX CEL issues - brocklanders - 08-13-2014 So tonight I will be pulling the ECU and cutting the wire. Can you give me direction on how to add the resistor in-line and which resistor to try? Apologies but I have searched your site several times looking for info but can't find anything in regards to this. Feel free to give me a hard time if it was in front of my face LOL!!!! Again thank you for all of the help! RE: 1993 Sidekick JX CEL issues - fixkick - 08-13-2014 no problem at all asking question, never.. the easiest way is if the sensor is burned out is to cut the old sensor connecter off the sensor pig tail and put a resistor there. if not there, anymore. one could find 2 wires that fits that rear engine sensor harness wire, not connected and fit 2 solid wire in the female hole there, if female, if not easy that. then at the ECU, http://www.fixkick.com/ECU/92-95MPI-eng-schematic_files/92-95mpi-eng-full-size-huge.png pin B17 , red-green >>> new resistor 10k>>>> to ground (this simulates a warm started engine and more more thing,,, ) id not cut the ecu grounds, not me. id find a better safer ground , for the other end of the resistor. im sure any body metal ground will work , if not run wire 2 any engine screws. brown- black- org is the code and can be way off. 9k or 12k< no matter, a photo of a resistor.... was here, sigh RE: 1993 Sidekick JX CEL issues - brocklanders - 08-13-2014 Thank you fixkick!!! Just had to unplug the thermo probe and reset the ecu now on to the exhaust leaks. RE: 1993 Sidekick JX CEL issues - fixkick - 08-13-2014 wow. that means this fed car and fed eCU has a calif EGR and CALIF harness.. now that is one odd car.. never dreamed this could ever happen, this mix.... and does prove, the they check both ways, (fed ecu looks for calif egr , ecu (new discovery) and Cal ECU looks for FED setup,) both do 53's THANKS For that , ill update my page with that fact. |
