Lenght of engine oil dipstick for the Sport
#11
Sorry I cannot find the same ruler in the pictures to make the measurement here in Cambodia. I have checked with the Suzuki car part and they do not ship it to Cambodia either.
I have found this ebay they carry the same part numbers:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/2ft-Engine-Oil-D...e%3ASuzuki

Could you please help confirm it is exactly the right one?

thanks, any ruler works!
25.4mm = 1 imperial inch.
the world over. metric rules.
1/2 price too. nice link.

we can use mm, or cm, or even meters.

i think he needs, length of

(solve "L")

in the words of the great swordsmen.
from tip of me blade to the base of me, hilt .
but if the current blade is not J18/j20, but if marks are wrong it be useless or now asking for new markings..... ouch.
in the pre 2005 days
it came on all SY418s, SV418s, SQ420S AND RH420. RH423 (arieo) 1996 to 2006)
the p/n is revised at Suzuki now.
1691077E05 (new)
then was used in the j23 engines (2.3L is now 90mm bored out j20)
j23 , oem , 300 cc more and 10 HP more....

One last option:
There is a guy living just several blocks from my house driving a 2001 US model Grand Vitara V6, 2.5L, auto, 4x4. At one time, I stopped him to talk about our trucks and I found out that his truck still carries the original dipstick. Do you think his GV is actually the SQ420s and still using the same dipstick?

I really need the exact length from the top rubber seal (after inserting into the engine block) to the higher oil level mark in mm or cm!

the sq420 means just that the SQ body is sold under many names, even GEO Trackers. Chevy trackers.
Chevy and GEO Trackers
Grand vitara
Grand Escudo
Grand Nomade , ive seen and drove in South America,
Mazda Proceed Levante

my list above>?
it came on all SY418s (esteem ,baleno), SV418s,( vitara sport) SQ420 (GV see large list of names) AND RH420. RH423 (RH=arieo) 1996 to 2006)
if you google those Suzuki code names, you find out all the other names used for that same car code. world wide.
in fact all SUZ. car parts, sold by suzuki are classified by those funny names (indexed by ). eg, SQ420., etc/.

which cars imported in the Cambodia I've no clues.?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzuki_Escudo

The SQ, is a wide body. 420 means 4cylinder , the 20 means the 2L
The SE is the narrow body vitara/sidekick/etc.
the J engine is a twin cam, inline 4 cylinder
the V6s are H engines are are totally different end to end. H20,h25,27, etc.
you need a J18 , j20 dip stick.

the J engine, ask friends first. gas or diesel, then is your suzuki 4 cylinders.
then if its twin cam.
the V6 is no good. the H engines are unique, every part, of it (cept maybe fasteners)

Suzuki sold very few sports. J18s are sports.
the j18 short stroke, J20, and uses most the same parts at j20, the crank has shorter stroke,.
the j18 began in 1996 here.
so id try for J20s, vast J20s sold world wide, a fact.

if the 4 cylinder has front mounted, oil filler cap then bingo.
as seen here
left = front, front= engine pulley side .
http://www.fixkick.com/t-belt/18L-lid1w.jpg
see the 2 humps?, that is a twin cam engine.
some engines sit front to rear others side by side. (transverse)
the photo is clear ,

I found another site and they clearly say that they ship it to Cambodia.

The dipstick fits the following cars:

2002-2006 Suzuki Aerio
1999-2003 Suzuki Vitara (2.0L ONLY)
1999-2002 Suzuki Esteem (1.8L ONLY).

They also give the part numbers as 16910-77E05.

Could you please help confirm it will fit my 1996 Sidekick Sport!!!!!!!!!!!!

the suzuki site shows
16910-77E05.
all i can say is the car stated, Suzuki lists only that number, (revised to E05)
does your car have VIN?
is it imported from the USA, as some are.
when buying ANY car part the first step, is what is your vin and what is your country
the Suzuki dealer asks you that for good reasons.
and then finds the correct part matching market.

im pretty sure suzuki does not make Cambodia Market coded cars. at all, of the 99 markets its not listed
so is a car from another market!
TAGS:
with a USA vin on top left of dash or
the other 99 markets here.
see code 24 here? what is your code 24? if the tag is missing then the VIN is on top of the dash, left hand driver side left seat) and is usa.
http://www.fixkick.com/specs/Body-TAGS/bodytag.html

i can look up all markets up to 2004 year.
but ive no clue as to yours.

wow, Rasmeidirt is the hero, first ever answer for this engine.

537mm long.... nice.

did you see the above 537mm measurement yet? 1 page back?

I bet japan would sell to you.
but they speak, Japanese there.

as these guys if they can special order suzuki car parts>
http://www.happycame.com/en/11247-Cambod...-Ltd-.html

i think they will say motor cycle only but is a just a phone call.
there is a suzuki plant there.
in Phnom Penn

if i was there, id be looking for nearest , suzuki parts dealer close to home.
Japan.
Thailand
Viet Nam.
id find it, first, the day I bought car or be hard to keep any car running , lacking a reliable parts source.
or KIA? are they not strong presence there? and toyota?
Suzuki weak here USA (cars), and strong in South America.
