#1
I have just done a rebuild on my engine have put full bottom end back together and have forgotton one of the location pins on the oil pump one side is in just not the other should i pull sump off oil pump off and put in? and reseal? I put a new metal gasket on can I reuse that or do I have to buy a new one? The one on the right facing engine is in.
Thanks

engine page 14 here, ferrule pin 12?
or is it the 1 of 2 head ferrule pins, keeping head square and cam belt running true? engine page 1 (id part 11)

i think the steel gasket is reusable. (undamaged)

the ferrule in the pump. pin 12, I think this part keeps the seal dead center on the crank snout boss.

the pan bolts would have the tendency to push the pump too high, is my guess.

good luck and cheers... dont cha just hate extra parts?

all parts are needed, i can't think of one extra part, that being said, alignment pins can be skipped if lucky.
if the the head cants, the belt runs off the cogs. head pins.
but the pump pins, i think only keep the seal from early death. if by chance
if the pump can be bolted square, and it holds this location ,all is good, but the pan love to push up the pump, and might cause fast seal wear on the bottom edge of seal
or even cause it to leak, seals only work right dead center. if off center, they act up. and when off center the seal really is not round any more. (I.d.lips)
