Wow lots of good details for troubleshooting.
Yes it late/delays on moving forward only when sitting for many hours(ie fisrt start in the morning, but after that no problems at all, you can feel and hear all shiftings as speed increases during cruising. I'll have a look at the detent cable. I posted some findings in my other issue the EGR stall thread. Did you see them? I have new pics.

Thanks!!

the first test really is cable under car. it can be bad, rusty, or calibrated wrong so that Drive selection is off a tad and then finally slips in to place and car moves... see??????
this controls the main SHIFT valve,

the cable is under car, where road salts and water and dirt, win.
the cable must work , if any part of it sticks, the shifts are delayed. that is its job. take 2 persons, one at throttle and 2nd at detent port.
on some it must be taken off on the detent port and see if its rusty, inside, and then move it by hand,,if its jammed , we work from here.
some times the cable can get hit by objects on the road, and break the seal, (cable skins) its hopeless behond that.. water will suck it.

OK. First drive with jumper wire to get DTC's for tranny came out OK. Only 12's all the way to work. Hard accelerating, stoping in hills and the stepping on gas. In other words lots of hard driving. Lets see what happens on the way home.

I'll keep you posted

if the car dont move cold
unplug the TCM connector and see if it moves now, if not, moving now, then the tranny is bad.
the tcm can not , make the Drive , 2 or L selector go to false neutrals, only to the wrong gear. so its really not your problem the TCM.
but the test can show you the trans does not slip, if you drive like this. right>>?????

need the super secret , manual test mode. THE FSM covers this if you read the full trans chapters.
in that, you drive with the TCM unplugged, force tranny to

1,3,4 shifts.
skips 2nd is normal.

now test cold, and on angles.

if it fails the tranny is bad.

I also read in FSM I sent you thru the link(EGR stall post) that a possible cause would be this(also found lots of FSM maybe you already have but can not tell what year from?

Here are the screen shots of possibles causes for late/delayed shift and move from 1st run after a long period off:

Cause 1:

Cause 2:

I'll do the failsafe test this weekend and see what turns up.
