Antifreeze Formula (Type / Color) 1996
What antifreeze would be best for a 1996 Geo Tracker. It’s hard to find this information online.

There’s inorganic, organic, and hybrid (universal).

The Green stuff comes in phosphate only, non-silicate, low silicate. And probably other kinds too.

Right now I’ve just filled it up with cheap Walmart supertech antifreeze which might be the hybrid stuff, it’s labeled as universal and doesn’t want to give away its type Sad.

RE: Antifreeze Formula (Type / Color) 1996
any kind works
only the costs change
the longer life costs more.
that is about it
that walmart is great run it 3 year, easy. even more.l

the funny fluids are both fact and hype, (hype is endless)
but the facts are
the EPA uses this logic that if you dont change it out, it don't land in the drinking water . (or fish)
so longer is mandated here , by the EPA, what you do is your call..
the bad antifreeze that turned to Jello,is not on the shelf, now. yeah!

good luck to you.

So all the discussions on antifreeze are pretty much unnecessary? I'm glad if that's the case.

or we can tap a hot line to Green Peace and talk for weeks,
google it , and read for ever. (and even see the failed brands)
if you have the cash spend it, and it can last longer, not sure if independent tests prove that? (after reading for days endless hype, what are facts?)
I just pay a shop now for full flush and fill. (I hate driving to the recycle center to get rid of the old AF) or I',m lazy, (sure)
