Need help locating parts for parking brake for 1995 Suzuki Sidekick
#1
Hello. I need help locating a part for my parking brake. I live on a Caribbean island so options here are limited, and thus I need to ship it. Full disclosure, I am not a car person, but mechanics here aren't the most helpful so I'm trying to locate the part on my own. All I have to go on is this picture and him calling it an "Adjustment assembly."

I drive a 1995 Suzuki Sidekick, 2 door, 5 speed manual, left side drive. I haven't had luck finding it on Autozone or O'reily, so I suspect they have another name.

2 door 5 speed, but is the engine 8v or 16valve.
i can get the P/n only with all variables told, 4wd? is it 4wd?
in the USA the 2 door is mostly 8valve.
but not world wide.

ill look up part 21, 22 (ID) here.
no matter both cars use same parts.

your photo
1996 top
91-95 bottom.

the links above are good. $64 from the California , USA, Suzuki dealer.
find out where your dealer is, ask them and hand them those 2 part numbers, they can get them for sure.

fixing cars is easy
finding parts , NO SO.

its no toyota for sure.

It's a 2WD, but I have no idea if it's 8v or 16v. Most of its lettering has fallen off, but I can look to see if a sticker has survived somewhere on it.

Most cars here are from Japan, though mine is American (since it's a Sidekick and not a Samurai, plus the left wheel drive)

im sorry , this rare car is most aftermarket parts makers do NOT make parts for this car, (the majority)
that is THE problem, and your car I think came from USA or CANADA as other places its a VITARA.
Suzuki does sell this part
the lower device in your photo is correct, the upper device fits only the 1996
you never looked at yours, so how can you know what is there. (seen mechanics use wrong parts on cars forever. looking is first. always.

i post the link to the only place in USA that sells this part, its suzuki.
if you google the p/n you find those 2 numbers sold all over earth.

try to know this about cars, for sure off major continents. lacking a suzuki parts dealer.
most parts do now exist, aftermarket.

just the simple stuff, like tires shocks, wipers ,glass, belts, shoes, pads and if lucky rear brake springs., and rebuilt calipers and wheel cylinders.
many parts in the engine are not sold.
many in the transmission if AUTO are , but not the stick shift box.
id say 1/2 are sold , outside of suzuki
if you read even the suzuki pages, it says discontinued on most the parts, 1/2?

fixing old cars is never easy, (for the lack of parts)

AZ nor O-reallys did not make your car, they only stock parts from major (and junk) parts makers.
what you see on there pages is what you can get.
a far better place to look first is rockauto.
they have the largest list in the business, for sure on suzuki

here is what they have.
if not seen there, watch out, its probably not sold. (cept Suzuki the maker)

they have all parts in the rear brake assemblies ,but the adjuster or the backing plate rear. not bad but no help for you. sorry

we see a sidekick on the road here in texas about 1 per month now, rare... so rare nobody want to stock parts,
