#1
2002 Chevy tracker ZR2 2.5L. So went to change out the thermostat and the housing cracked. How do I find another one or is there a compatible one?

Try GM yet? they sold it new.
i can tell the suzuki P./N too last.
all links are off my hard to find parts page. first is GM.

2.5 LITER V6, GM has parts but shows not this part.
but the drawings are horrid there.
the front base housing is there not what you broke. right? the top (front thermostat housing is bad)
you broke part 23 or 17,
my guess is NOT IN STOCK GM. for part 17

as seen here.... Gm has this nasty habit of deleting the part and PN when discontinued, not just flagging it , discontinued like susuki does, that why you know you found it and the pn but is not in stock.

https://www.gmpartsdepartment.com/parts/...eid=214533

now SUZUKI
part 24 is tad clearer here. $59
[ 24 ] COOLING SYSTEM / COOLING / RADIATOR & COMPONENTS / Thermostat cover
Part Number: 1756167D01

thermostat cover (web site down this morning, for work) but it is there, and only suzuki made them....
https://www.suzukicarparts.com/parts/200...am=1411030

Part Number: 1756167D01 did you look at rockauto first? answer none.
https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/chev...+seal,2136
Grand vitara 2.5L there, shows. shows nothing, tells me no cloners making it but DORMAN might.
lets look at Dorman. (none)
ebay , none for clones. (used parts, come and go)

OK suzuki went back onoline
here it is

that is not what I said at all
first ive no idea what part is broke, just near the stat.

here is GM again,
I tried the link many times and works for me, in the USA>
https://www.gmpartsdepartment.com/parts/...CallOut=30
if not working
go to the base URL and drill to your engine. by hand, like I just did.
https://www.gmpartsdepartment.com
part 23 or 17 IDK I do not know which part you have nor which it is in this drawing at GM but you can see clearly many parts are discontinued.

so then I went to (many places all failed but not SUZUKI and i showed a link,
https://www.suzukicarparts.com/parts/200...am=1411030

Part Number: 1756167D01

if the link fails, again go to the base URL, Suzukicarparts.com
and paste in the pn above.
https://www.suzukicarparts.com/
the at bottom of the screen we paste 1756167D01
and land here,

https://www.suzukicarparts.com/parts/ind...eid=214820

I am not saying my part numbers are correct !
I had to guess what is in your hand.
but you can see the schematic there just like I can and then pick the correct part, that I can never do. sorry that is all I can do on parts. find sources, exact part is your efforts.

I found it thanks to your help. I ended up ordering it off of parts.com because the GM site kept telling me it wasn’t secure. It’s actually this:
Part Number: 91176899
By-pass pipe 2.5 LITER

But I do appreciate your assistance. Now I just have to figure out how to get it off the inlet pipe.

great , an ahhhhh the bypass pipe
see on my first link

https://www.gmpartsdepartment.com/parts/...ass%20pipe

add to cart show up here>? IDK
https://www.gmpartsdepartment.com/shoppi...rchtext%3D

that certificate errors are nothing , it's just that GM.com does not want to pay $4000 for expired date updates. (they are crooks these certificate makers , for sure) highway robbery.
I have 3 servers here all expired, ta hell with certs.
and more, lots more here, but non are on the web so no big deal.
when you see an unknown company with self signed or expired, sure, but not GM.com (it's huge)
no these guys. www.gmpartsdepartment.com
not ever.
watch out googling for p/n and landing say on an Iranian , virus site ( trap) , endless traps on the web; and more on the dark web.(IP raw)

good luck and glad you found it, and hope it fits.
cheers and Happy trails to you ! (all)

i found it for you , above,. did you miss that? from actual GM./
in the above links. there are 2 parts, there, which one is correct IDK,
only you can look at the online drawing and pick the 1 of 2 parts seen there,
or walk in to GM , lay the part on the counter and say this.?
first you need to make sure the PN matches your part, do so carefully.
the drawings are very crude. there.
sorry

this is called bypass. pipe. a suspicious.

if you look carefully there, there are 3 parts there, 2 , housings, and 1 thermostat, only 1 if stocked, and shows the parts missing , the other 2., do not let
also some parts listed as instock both GM and Suzuki are in fact not in stock (bad acts)

I MADE THIS LONG AGO.

http://fixkick.com/engine/2.5L%202004%20...engine.pdf

CHECK OUT MY PAGE 16, ?
THE RIGHT (LEFT FACING) ENGINE IS STAT HOUSING, SEE PAGE 22
i GUESS YOU BROKE THE RIGHT HOUSING, STAT HOUSING, right housing from drivers perspective (as is normal way to ID parts , drivers seat)
and last my page 41,
I show this part 3 times in my PDF. (save it for next time?)

the wrong housing goes to the top of the radiator, (oddly)
the correct housing does down huge steel pipe and lower RAD fitting.

the 2 parts , 2 housings 1 is "chicken lips" rare. (last one made 2003?)

here is is the suzuki drawing more clear. and part 1 is it and with better name.

so using the better suzuki drawing
you need part ID 1

seems to me GM calls #1 , as #23
best I can tell.
here
https://www.gmpartsdepartment.com/parts/...G%20SYSTEM

and here
https://www.gmpartsdepartment.com/parts/...CallOut=23

walk in to any GM dealer and ask for this part, they have there own network, that can find it in all GM dealers USA wide, no faster way exists, (no 3rd party)

Part Number: 91176899

part ID 24 at suz;

does this link work,?
