PCV Hose Replacement
#4
no body knows this, not suzuki not their, parts lists. THE FSM ASSUMES , factory hoses only. so avoids all this....
it's metric hose, and most hose here"USA" is silly inches.
best is to take the OBJECT to store and hand fit it. 1 by 1, (if possible )

in this case. the IAC don't just fall of car, easy (hard as hell in fact) but TB does. 4 bolts.
what to do:
id take my calipers and measure the OD of the nipples, then take that and multiply by 25.4 to see metric size, just in case. In most cases its a round metric number size.. 6,7,8,9 mm. see?
what must happen is the hose size must be less than OD of nipple. (sorry of obvious)
so what if the pipe reads.
Just 1 example..
.4 inches, that is 10mm.
so 10mm hose is too big and 9 is just right, and autozoned, goes, what is 9mm??????
my mind set, it use METRIC, then when that is know, try to find matching silly usa fractional hoses....

ok now a usa horror of 2 things, Fractions, (still taught in USA schools. sadly) and inches,, a double hell to be.
btw, fractions are only good for cooks and carpenters here, but not the ROTW, its all metric.
most folks in ROTW (rest of the world) go ok, i need 1/2 liter of oil mate, that is about it for fractions.....

.4 , usa style, 10mm ROTW

ok so what is that. i pull out my calc or any fractions table.
and find
7/16 = .44 inches. too big, (i picked 9mm hose because, it very hard to find 9mm water hoses. in USA) 9mm ID to fit 10mm nipples
then drop a 1/16 to 3/8 , (hose sizes , drop a min of 1/16, never 1/32, so this rule makes it easier)
.375 , we have a winner here, 3/8 id hose will fit.

so this is what i do everytime,
Suzuki dont know, Autozoned is zoned. (in many stores, there is the huge rack of hoses. water, fuel, smog, Fuel injectrion) and they point and say check that out........
but my calc works. and my calipers.

yes the old hose will be distorted.

EPDM hose is really good stuff, factory GRADE
