Transmission kickdown cable help
#6
Looking at your picture, it appears that you have a lot of adjustment remaining on the nut. Mine has a little metal stopper on the cable so that if I remove the cable from the throttle and pull on the end of the cable it comes out and then when I turn loose it goes back in to that stopper (because of the spring in the transmission pulling it back). When I connect it to the throttle I adjust it so there is just a tiny bit of slack in the cable (like 1/16") by using the adjusting nuts. I am wondering if your cable is moving freely, like when you take it off and pull on it you can feel the spring pressure pulling it back and when you turn loose it goes all the way back in to the stopper?
