sidekick for parts or fix
#1
I have a 1997 Suzuki Sidekick JLX Sport Special Edition 1.8L engine, A/T, dark green color all stock. The odometer shows 202,634 miles but it was towed behind RV for years so actual miles are much less but unknown. Purchased vehicle in 2014 and it had 148500 miles at that time. It runs fine and everything works as intended and has been serviced properly since purchased BUT the crankshaft is STRIPPED OUT[/size] at the crankshaft pulley bolt end. I'm selling this as is, if interested please contact me. There is no major rust and has never been wrecked. Vehicle is located in USA near Vero Beach Florida.

j18 sport. (j20 precursor engine and shares same parts)

a good shop may be able to drill the front crank snout out and re-tap it to the next larger size.
or go to imperial usa inches (tricky no?) large size,
my guess some one used a power full impact gun there and wrecked, it,there is no other way to do that, I think, (unless driving ,never once torqued to spec)
sorry for your loss sure am.

it can not be welded or it melts the babbit bearings, there.
unless crank pulled, and than engine block rebuilding shop can, fix this. (where the bore out the block , the guy on the crank grinder does this all the time.

One more way?
use structural epoxy on that thread. (some are super strong) but is forever there, unless huge heat applied.
the best way is not damaging the seal there in the process.
