if FPR is original. (fuel pressure reg)
id get a new one.
they cant really cant too good if this old....
if it sticks closed or near, mPG will suffer, when cruising the PFR runs lower fuel pressure and the 02 can go closed loop easy and MPG happens. (at cruise)

the best mpg is. (only happens in 5th gear, i think)
when the speed and MAF sensor curve, crosses. (max speed and lowest air flow) max MPG happens called the sweet spot.
this can be seen easy with any MPG gauge. i think my 5sp was at 45mph, but its best to test each car for its own sweet spot,

hey nice rig, lots of work to make it near new.
way to go....

Thanks Fixkick!

Do you have any recommendations on FPR's? Is there a brand that is better than others? Or, should I just get one that fits and go with it?

I'm also assuming I'll run into the same issues with compatibility until I find the right part num. It has a uniquely bent tube so that should help identifying it by sight.

thanks,
John

FPR, not to many choices there, suzuki and what rockauto shows.

i think there is but one FPR, on 16v , ill look for you.

the FPR diaprham diameter and spring set the fuel rates....1:1 our is, a 1 bar air to 1bar fuel ratio.. FPR.
im in the EU section, yes, lots of FPR uses. even by market. market 37 (brazil, my guess? Ethanol in fuel<? runs its own FPR.
the 95' santana is different. (VIN with VEET prefix is Spain kick) but other years same as ours...
the type 2 engine, at VIN ~00108242~ when to a stepped, vacuum tube. there.

ours (16v) are all 15160-58B00 (no step, strait tube, 1:1 ratio reg.
but in EU, oh boy.
seems the only trick is the stepped tube, (forgetting Brazil... and Sugar cane Liquor.)
just market E02. UK

the stepped tube is 15160-57B00. (there are 57b00 AND 58b00 AND 58B10. ) SAME PREFIX.

at rock auto sells SMP parts
and PR189 is a match for USA car. has vacuum dog leg pipe.

http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/raframecatalog.php?carcode=1142266&parttype=6124

under side kick same Pn,
they mix 8v, 16v and export parts there. tricky... I used a real SMP catalog and looked it up.

keep in mind ROCKauto still dont know there are 2 engines with VIN code 0'
thus the mixing of parts.

Fix what do I need to do to install this MPG gauge. Id love to know whats my MPG as of now in cruising speed. Thanks!!

the 94 has OBD1
so its a custom device. a small lcd screen, processor some simple code and monitors 1 injector)

its #16 on my mpg list

http://ecomodder.com/wiki/index.php/MPGuino

this can be done with he ALDL port, but nobody has yet. a pain that.... and the secret protocol... never published by Suzuki.

it's (link) only accurate in closed loop, and will not do averages right. nor acceleration MPG right. 02 shuts off and , unknown)
but will do cut fuel gains.
how ever at cruise speeds, any , it works.
for sure finds the sweet spot cruising...
