10w-40 Oil in 16v? - cosmic_splatter - 07-28-2014

fixkick

I read in the suzuki forums that someone recommended against running 10w-40 oil in a 16v engine. Have you heard this?

I was going to run mobil 1 10-40 high mileage fully synthetic oil you can buy at wally world for about $23. I wanted to ensure there was no issue with this oil since most of my driving will be in weather that is 50F-102F.

thanks,
John

the 40 only happens when way too hot, so??? why would that be bad.? sure , in siberia they run 0w...

50f is warm weather.
the 16v and 1.8L both ask for better oil. (cam issues)

open operators guide and behold, there it is in all its glory.
the engine didn't get tighter, this old. too.
